Join award winning wildlife photographer Steve Race on a 3 hour Owl Photography Experience at the National Centre for Birds of Prey in Helmsley, North Yorkshire.

We have exclusive access to a wide range of iconic native and worldwide owls in the idyllic setting of Duncombe Park Estate, Helmsley situated in the North York Moors National Park.

The experience will be tailored towards beginners and enthusiasts. We will look at the techniques and equipment needed to photograph birds of prey and advice and tips will be given on how to get that perfect wildlife image. You will learn about correct exposure, how to deal with tricky lighting conditions such as harsh sunlight or low light levels, and depth of field techniques to compensate for the expanse of open parkland and woodland.

The NCBP holds a large collection of raptors including it's incredible family of owls from around the world with species such as European Eagle Owl, Great Horned Owl, Burrowing Owl, Tawny Owl, Barn Owl, Long Eared Owl, Great Grey Owl, Ural Owl, Abyssinian Eagle Owl and Brown Wood Owl.

During the photography experience a number of these species will be available to be photographed as both static and flying shots.

We will have our own private flying display to look at the techniques of flight photography and capture some stunning images of the Owls in flight.

Group Size: 12 maximum.
