Birding Discovery Day - Flamborough Headland Spring Special 2026
These unique coastal adventures are limited to just five participants per tour, ensuring you get extra attention from your expert guide! We'll see a wide range of bird species, from breeding seabirds on the cliffs, and landbirds from near and far; we'll use our famous local knowledge to maximise our chances of bird migration on the day; and we'll provide you with an 'insider's insight' into the magic and mystery bird migration! Suitable for any ability level (although a basic fascination with bird migration is preferable!), who knows what we'll find on the day?
New! All of Mark's Birding Discovery Days are supported by ZEISS Birding optics, meaning you will have a choice of premium binoculars to use all day for free!
We'll read the weather conditions to make sure of the best possible returns, including many different species over land and sea.... expect to learn a lot, first hand and in the thick of it! Please note: transport is not provided on this day tour. All sites will be in close proximity to the meeting point to be arranged.
What you can expect on one of our Birding Discovery Days 2026:
- Small group size for unrivalled opportunities to interact with your guide
- A professional, local expert guide with a lifetime of birding knowledge in Yorkshire
- A fun-packed day - exciting locations, tuition, opportunities for photography and of course great birds!

Had a fabulous day with Mark at Flamborough. I can thoroughly recommend Yorkshire Coast Nature trips, whether you are a keen birder or don’t know a sparrow from an owl you’ll still have a great day. Mark has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things birding, he imparts it with passion, enthusiasm and humour. Neither myself nor my wife are in the first full flush of youth yet were able to cope with the pace of the day and will definitely book more. Sandy Frew
